Our Core Beliefs

The Shiva Shrestha Foundation operates with a deep respect for Nepali traditions and a forward-thinking vision for the future. Our work includes organizing cultural events and supporting artistic endeavors, promoting health, enhancing healthcare services, and improving access to education. We are committed to five core themes that guide our initiatives: enhancing Health, Education, and Community Development through improved access to essential services; safeguarding Art and Culture Preservation to ensure Nepal's rich heritage thrives; promoting Peace by fostering understanding and harmony among diverse communities; focusing on Environmental Conservation to protect natural resources and combat climate change; and encouraging Sports to promote teamwork, discipline, and healthy lifestyles. Each of these themes is interconnected and vital to our mission, allowing us to address various community needs comprehensively and sustainably.

Why Shiva Shrestha Started This

Shiva Shrestha, an iconic name synonymous with Nepali art and cinema has long been a brand itself in the in the industry. Now, his passion extends far beyond the silver screen seeking to utilise his experience for the people’s prosperity. Witnessing firsthand the erosion of traditional Nepali values and the struggles faced by marginalized communities including youths, he felt a deep sense of responsibility to help. Inspired by a desire to preserve Nepal's unique artistic heritage, culture, sports and foster a more peaceful and equitable society, he founded the Shiva Shrestha Foundation.

Shrestha envisioned an organization that would not only celebrate Nepali culture but also empower communities through education, healthcare, agriculture, and sustainable development. He believes that by investing in the well-being of the Nepali people and promoting cultural harmony, we can create a brighter future for all. The Foundation is a testament to his unwavering commitment to his homeland and his belief in the power of art and compassion to transform lives.

Our Team

Shiva Shrestha Foundation has been established by a team of highly experienced individuals committed to serving the community. Founded by Shiva Shrestha, an iconic figure in the Nepali film industry with a notable presence in SAARC countries cinema (Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, and Nepal), the foundation is dedicated to promoting art, culture, education, health, and the overall well-being of the nation.

To ensure that the foundation's vision is realized, we have assembled a multidisciplinary team with over two decades of experience in education, health, non-profit management, arts, and international partnerships. This structured approach enables us to effectively address the diverse needs of the communities we serve.
